Margaret Law

Margaret’s career started as a trained mainstream teacher. After some years as a school Learning Support Coordinator, she went on to serve as an Educational Psychologist at the Ministry of Education. She felt very heartened and inspired by the meaningful impact on schools through the delivery of national initiatives and frameworks to support teachers and students.
Margaret started her private psychology practice (MPEC) in 2008, and has been an active practitioner in Singapore for over 20 years. She believes firmly in building capacity of caregivers and teachers to support their children holistically and meaningfully. To this end, Margaret has given many talks and workshops to parents and teachers in schools, institutions of higher learning, enrichment centres, student care centres, as well as voluntary work organisations.
One of Margaret’s passions is in developing other psychologists' professional knowledge and skills. She has provided clinical supervision to post-grad university students in Educational Psychology and Clinical Psychology programmes, and is currently supervising psychologists in special schools, private organisations, and Special Educational Needs Officers in their practicum. Margaret currently serves as an active member of the SRP Supervisors core team in the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) and is involved in the revision of the SRP Supervisor application and renewal, as well as the development of the Supervisors Competency framework.
​Margaret received her professional training in Psychology and English Linguistics from the University of Queensland (Australia), and her MSc in Educational Psychology from the Institute of Education (University of London, UK). She is a registered Educational Psychologist (SRP) with the Singapore Psychological Society and serves in the core team of the EP-SIG (Special Interest Group).
Outside of work, Margaret treasures her time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoys having meals and walks with friends, and learning new culinary ideas.
Yolanda Ong
Senior Educational Psychologist

Yolanda is a Registered Psychologist with the Singapore Psychological Society. She obtained her first degree from the University of Melbourne (Australia)with double major in Media & Communications and Psychology in 2007 and her Honours degree in Psychology at the University of Queensland (Australia) in 2008. In 2017, she graduated with a Master of Arts (Applied Psychology) from the National Institute of Education (Singapore).
Yolanda's belief that every child has a voice led her to pursue a career in Psychology. She hopes to be a mouthpiece for the children whose voices may not be heard or understood. Yolanda worked as a Psychologist in the special education sector for over 7 years. She has experience working with children and adolescents of different needs, includng intellectual and learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Down Syndrome.
Yolanda strongly believes in the importance of the role of the family unit and environment in supporting the growth of the child. In her role as the school's Psychologist, she worked to support students, parents and teachers their behaviour, emotional and learning needs. She also provides consultations and trainings for parents, teachers and volunteers on working with individuals with special needs. Yolanda is a trained facilitator of the Signpost for Building Positive Behaviour Programme.
Yolanda left the special education sector to continue her personal and professional growth as a Psychologist. However, she has not left behind her passion to work with children. In her free time, she also enjoys cooking and travelling.
Joanne Seow

Joanne is an Educational Psychologist registered with the Singapore Register of Psychologists and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, and is a full member of the Singapore Psychological Society. She obtained her Master of Educational Psychology from the University of Melbourne in 2013.
Joanne has over 10 years of experience working with children and adolescents with special needs in Singapore and in Australia, and in a variety of settings which include government service, special education schools, early intervention centres, and primary and secondary schools. She also has experience working with neurotypical children with social, emotional and behavioural issues.
At MPEC, Joanne provides both assessment and intervention services. She adopts a combination of different therapeutic approaches in her work such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Functional Behaviour Analysis, Social Skills Training, Structured Teaching, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy, and Art Therapy.
Joanne engages and connects easily with her clients and works closely with families and practitioners towards common goals. She believes that “it takes a village to raise a child.”
Eleanor Wong
Psychologist

Eleanor first entered the field as an Associate Psychologist at the Ministry of Education in 2006. Her work there included conducting assessments to better understand and support school children with special educational needs (SEN), providing consultation to teachers and parents, as well as conducting workshops for teachers and SEN Officers.
Eleanor joined MPEC in 2009 and has used her professional knowledge and skills to serve the community through assessment and intervention, working with individuals across different age groups ranging from preschoolers, primary school children, adolescents, and young adults. She works closely and collaboratively with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure holistic support for the children.
Eleanor enjoys meeting and engaging with her clients, and believes that each individual is unique and special. She finds it a privilege to be able to play a small part in meeting the needs of her clients and their families so that they can be better supported and their lives can be more meaningful.
